Science Fair Project Due Dates – 2016-2017

Mon., Aug. 15               Schedule of Science Fair due dates and Meadowlane Science Fair handbook received by students and reviewed in class. 
                                   
Tue., Aug. 16                Parent Signature Form due (see below)

Fri., Sept. 9                   Science Fair QuestionWritten in SF Log    Guidelines:  1 variable, topic/question that can be researched, data can be graphed.  No mold or bacteria projects.  Discuss SF question with your teacher prior to due date.


Tue., Sept. 20                Research notes and bibliography – (3 sources- at least one resource other than internet) Bibliography—easybib.com
Written in SF Log   (easybib is not 1 of 3 required resources, it is a tool for writing the bibliography))

Thur., Sept. 22              HypothesisWritten in SF Log   Use format provided in handout.

Friday October 6 th               Materials List & Procedure (numbered steps) with control variables, independent variable, and dependent variable identified.  Written in SF Log.  Refer to handout for specific information.

Sept.-Nov.                     Conduct experiment:  dated log entries, numerous trials, data collection, detailed observations, results, conclusion, and summary.  All information is written in SF Log.

Fri., Nov. 18                  SF Project and SF Log are DUE in class.
SF Boards should have the following:  question, hypothesis, materials list, procedure (includes variables), graph, results and conclusion.  Summary is not placed on the board.  Presentations will begin.  Projects will be stored at school until Science Fair in January.
